A Heart for Changing Hearts!

“Can you beat this price for an abortion?"                                        
"Can I make payments for an abortion?"                                                        
“I have to have an abortion; I could not live with myself if I gave my baby up for adoption."
 
These are the words we hear from our clients. A woman's life is often so soaked in problems that these words make perfect sense to her. This is often the starting point of our ministry, where we go to work with the Lord to change hearts.  We love her, serve her and educate her, all with the hope that she will choose to preserve life. It is often very difficult and we do not always prevail, but this is the ministry the Lord has placed us in.
 
Recently a young woman came to us who was very abortion minded. She had her first child at 16 years old and he is now 2.

At 18 years of age she now faced another pregnancy. She said she was so happy to be pregnant the first time,  but now she could not face having another child. It was just too hard. At the time, she was about ten weeks pregnant and as she held the 12 week fetal model, she appeared to be numb. She said “I better have the abortion soon”

When asked at what point in her mind was the pregnancy not really a child, she could not say. I spent two hours discussing everything I could possibly think of. I kept praying, “Lord, give me Your words.”  She seemed to already have every argument in her head.

The tragedy is that she was already suffering from the abortion, even though she had not yet had it. She was traumatized by her situation, but also by what she was about to do.

As I write this, I do not know the outcome of her decision so I ask you to please join me in praying for her, and for the Lord to equip me in the event that she might return.

It is with clients like this that we especially understand why the Lord has called us to transform to an ultrasound center so that she WILL return to meet her baby via ultrasound; to make the child as real to her as the problems before her.

Though our journey is filled with the need for much faith, we are absolutely certain that we MUST mature as a ministry to reach this woman and hundreds more like her.
